There is no one simple answer to this question. It’s a competitive market so you need to do your homework and develop a solid fan base. Start by building your e-mail list. The people who sign up are your best customers for your music and merchandise. Let people know when you’re performing next in your e-mail correspondence to draw them in for your next gig. When you’ve built up a local following, you should expand to a few new towns. Check out sites like MySpace.com, Friendster.com and other networking sites. Create a great web site and stay in touch with your audience. You might want to hire a publicist and gradually expand your touring area, in turn building your e-mail base. And make sure your CD sales are being tracked so you can build a story around that. You can also network at key industry events around the country like SXSW, CMJ or the DIY Convention. Build your e-mail list; build your network of people who support you; and you will evolve from there.

Frustrations of a Creator...
I’m not sure what to say to you all right now, but I’m just going to start speaking from off the top of my head. If you have a passion for graphic designing and you are reading what I am saying you may relate to me, or you may not but either way I am getting what I have to say out. Graphic design is a passion of mine but I still find myself struggling often on ideas and concepts for projects, trying to work on a new project now and nothing seems to be flowing through my head!! At times my ideas just hit me and I can’t stop working, and then other times I sit stressing about when the next idea will come. Please don’t get me wrong though, I’m not complaining just expressing the frustrations of being a creator. You have to come up with original, eye catching, and imaginative ideas which can be hard to do sometimes, especially when there are a lot of other things going on in life around you that can block your expressive side. But I’m confident that I will be come up with an idea for a pleasing design, just not right now haha…. Maybe next time when you see me on here, I will be expressing my accomplishments instead of venting my lack of..

Hello to All...
I want to briefly break down the importance and beauty of the Copyright. First off, if you are in any situation where you are creating something brand new for the world, you would think you'd want to protect it to the best of your ability. Now, there are many ways and different cases to "protect" your intellectual work, but none works the best nor holds up in a court of law more than the Copyright. As the years roll by, I run across countless accounts of people who get their creative ideas and identities stolen/taken. This is a growing epidemic especially with the growth of technology. Being that as it may... there is a plus side to the growth of this technology. Now we have the ability to copyright all of our material from the comfort of our homes and the tips of our fingertips, online at www.copyright.gov A simple solution to a growing epidemic. Please just do not freely dish our your most precious commodity, your intellect, by uploading it online for the world on a social network, or sending it to an agency/label without COPYRIGHTING it. You could easily walk away from millions and millions of your own money by making this deadly mistake!
