Okay... new update...
Today July 31, 2009 me and an affiliate take a trip to Warner Bros. Music Group for an A&R meeting. Okay, so if you read my previous posts, you may have saw my position on major labels and what they may or maynot be looking for. Well to sum up the trip in a nutshell... it was a success in the fact that i was able to display my talents and music to major label reps and deal makers. Case in point, they like what the saw and heard. On the flipside... Major labels now-a-days are mainly interested in how much money are you going to make them. They no longer concentrate on album sells, they look to push singles and testers to see if it is hit or miss. Take the "Nu Boys"... not a fan of that "Jerk" song. no dissing but there is no musical factor in that song in any shape of form.. would not get no play in my ride. But yet everywhere you turn you hear that song, see that video... makes you wonder? Are they good musicians or are they good marketing products? I will let that question simmer for a while... Labels cannot buy true musical talent now-a-days... KEEP TRUE MUSIC TRUE!
Till next time...

Words from the Unsigned..
Okay...
As an unsigned artist in this new-age industry has its ups and downs. For all of those who don't know what its like... let me break it down for you. For listeners who see you unsigned either believe you are unsigned because you either have no talent, or just started. Well neither of those items are true. In this new age industry, Major Labels are not looking to spend all the money for artist development and invest simply because you have "talent". You have to provide your own since of stability; i.e. fans, plays, merchandising, sales. Which makes you ask... Why do you want to be signed? Answer is... most people want that exposure so they can further their empire. Me... i'd rather have an investor to help my product reach the masses and let my story out.
Hope this information is useful... until then.. PEACE!

Reflecting
What goods everyone? You already know who dis is, its ya boy BlayZ, just chillin and thinkin after a long studio session last night. Had Jason Curtis producing the track, he even laced the beat wit a lil extra crack that made me rewrite my whole verse. My boy Jon ripped da second verse, took it past 16 bars and everything, spitting raw. Afterwards I had to use my boys truck to drop everyone off since they wouldn't fit in da coupe... but his headunit ain't got a usb slot like mine so we were riding out to the radio... and Drake's track successful came on... really made me think... i just wanna be successful... i wanna make music that come on da radio and niggas all be vibing too...... i wanna have fans. I always wonder what its like when you make it... like the whole progression... not just the unsigned rapper to the famous rapper... but the whole transition ya know? Like from just writing in a notebook or freestyling round da block wit your friends... to realizing that you got a gift wit words... to actually recording tracks... to getting that local buzz... to getting requests for performances... then taking it to the national level.... then finally making it...... I just wanna be successful
